    No its not unusual. I guess it takes them a while to process
    because they have to wait on paperwork like references. They might
    have alot of people applying, which is probably true. At least you
    are on top of it and calling, make sure you know whats going on.
    They never called me to let me know that my stuff was processed or
    responded to the email they gave out when I was hired. It took me 2
    months to find out all my stuff had been sitting there for 3 weeks.
    You gotta be on them otherwise they will let the ball drop!
