In Texas, non convictions cannot be reported after 7 years. (I also had
a misdemeanor class B deferred adjudication). That's why you are
passing all these background checks.
You are safe and your background will not get in the way of getting a
teaching position. I have worked for HISD. You cannot expunge it but
you can get what is called an "order of non disclosure". You can
legally deny ever being arrested on any application after getting it.
